Yesterday I caught up my blog reading. And for those whose blogs I follow regularly I posted happy new year wishes.
But there are others who come and read my blog and have even contacted me privately from time to time. A few I know something about because of the contact they've made. But there are still others who visit that I know nothing about at all other than that they visit. So I wish happy new year to all these readers as well.
I am thinking many things about this new year. For me it is in so many ways a year of new beginnings: new marriage for all practical purposes, new freedoms, new responsibilities, new home, new job, new opportunities to serve my family, new friends and new chances with old ones, new commitments to healthy habits, new places to see, new things to learn.
I think most of the new stuff will be pretty happy. But I suspect there will be a few stressful and trying things along the way, too. And probably will be some sadness.
Of course I am one given to introspection and self-analysis. I recognize that I have made a good many mistakes over the last 60 years. I've caused my fair share of pain to others. And for my failures and shortcomings I'm truly sorry and especially for those times I've hurt other people. I've tried to make amends where possible and I've leaned it sometimes isn't. Even when it is possible it is never enough.
But I'm determined to leave the past in the past while trying to hold onto what I've learned form it. Would be a shame to not have learned something along the way having come this far. And even more shameful to have learned something and then ignored it.
I wish everyone a peaceful and prosperous new year.

I wish the same for you, Terry.
Happy New Year, Terry.
You deserve all the happiness you can have in this new year and for many new years after. Blessings to you and yours.
cheers to you..... and finding that new porch. may life never be so enough that its call isn't heard and lavished.
the very best to you and your family as well in 2008. i will forever consider you my friend.
I guess like blogger we need to file last year under a tab labeled 2007 and move on. I don't think that means forgetting though, not everything. In years to come we will learn to remember just the best of 2007, for now we must just focus our thoughts on 2008! :) Glad to see you make it into 2008, it would not be the same with out you and its only day 1.
Happy New year Terry. I'm so happy for you and all the new exciting things in your life. I pray this is a year of joy.
Happy New Year to you and your sweet Judy. May this next year offer you so many good things and enable you to make some amazing memories in your new home. Hugs to you, my friend.
