What to do

It is Saturday morning. I am in my new home and sitting here trying to decide what I should do. I don't know what to write about today so I decided to write about not knowing what to do.

I could go over to "the house" and exercise or I could go over to the park and walk a bit. But really I overdid it yesterday and I need to take a day off exercising.

Some friends today are walking for Alzheimer's. I've read their blogs already. I've glanced at the forums I follow. I had nothing to say.

I don't feel like writing on any important subject. I have a few things I should read but don't want to do that either.

It doesn't feel like home yet here. But it no longer feels like home over at "the house" either. Which reminds me of the book The Man Without A Country. I remember reading that book as a child and thinking how awful for Philip Nolan.

Today is one of the big football games for my area: OU versus Texas. I never went to one but everyone says they are always a spectacle and an event. I never was much of a "fan" which greatly distressed my teachers and others who were responsible for fostering school spirit and so on. I read a blog where a fellow said he was going over to a party to watch the game on a big screen.

Well, I am getting up and going to do something.

Hang in there, Terry. I would think it can take a while to adjust to all the changes. Go easy with yourself.

Hey - you could always clean the horse's stalls! I find that absurdly therapeutic.

Good Afternoon Terry. Well, you could be happy it isn't...snowing! See "Blog!" I am sure it is "ALL" a huge ajustment for you. Probably how some Men feel when they 'retire' and then change their minds, too boring!

But, I bet you are really exhausted too. I hope Judy is making you feel welcome? I always thought it would be nice to have two seperate houses, if I were to get married! LOL!

You could get busy building that Porch, when you feel up to it.

You'll find your way. I am sure it is important, that you even recognise "I don't know what to do?" Some people just...pretend!

P.S. You are still in my prayers, along with Lori & Nancy, and will be for quite some time! Oh, my Uncle (my Dad's Brother) who still lives in Oklahoma, and is sharp as a tack (82!) E-Mailed me today, and mentioned that game. I didn't have the heart to ask him if it was "The Sooners" I see now that it isn't. Glad I kept my Mouth shut!

sky/flinty- great idea!!!build the damn porch! best idea Ever, i think.

(self esteem; points for you with judy; claiming your space; exercise, both mental and physical; feeling of worth and accomplishment; time well spent; productive... need i go on?)

sky- it *is* the sooners.

I'll try to get a picture up of the horses' and their corral. They're down at Judy's mom's house. We're less than 1/2 mile. Their entire place is about 400+ acres I think.

Sky it is definitely the Sooners. It's cult-like here. Amazing on the snow - way too early for me.

Cornbread must not be married either. I don't get to make decisions about building a porch!

I understand that not knowing what to do. I know what needs to be done but I'm doing it just a little at a time and forcing myself at that.
I just really don't feel like doing much of anything. Maybe it's because we're not used to having a choice in what to do.

Absolutely you two! Your life had a plan, and a demand, every single day from you? What a harsh reality change? Even though for the better, still challenging to get 'used' to.

O.K. Flinty, who won, so I can act like I care! LOL! Mom will be so impressed!

Church was great! I finally found 'my' Church! It only took seven years? YIKES! Yes, and way to early for snow! We don't get real snow until January, most years?

Crazy weather! I just get done moaning about the 'heat' and then "BAM!" Winter is here!

Can't wait to see the horses, Terry.

I think I detect a little gloat in your tone, Flinty! :)

"Wooowhooo? Is that the 'right' response??? I guess my Aunt would be pleased. God rest her soul!

Thanks Flinty, for keeping me in the 'know!'

Sky - the proper thing for you to say would be "Boomer" and then your Aunt would answer "Sooner."

Judy and I were wondering yesterday how we both missed the "fan" gene since most everyone else in our families is. Although we don't have any really rabid fans in either family.

Some folks really go all out to show their support.

I'm sure your "to do" list is long, but it's a matter of finding the mood and the energy to begin working on it. Take one day at a time, Terry. It may take some time, but you'll eventually figure out what you what to do first. Hang in there! I'll be thinking of you.
